Clothing & footwear

Billing software for clothing and footwear shops

In a garment shop the GST rate depends on the price tag: up to ₹2,500 a piece is 5%, above it 18%. MudraERP keeps the rate on each item, so a ₹1,999 kurta and a ₹3,499 blazer on one bill are both taxed correctly.

  • GST at 5% and 18%
  • Units: pcs, pair, set, m
  • Prices include GST

How a clothing & footwear business runs on MudraERP

Tag each size or colour with its own barcode and scan at the counter. Season-end discounts go on the line. When a customer brings something back, a credit note reverses the sale and the stock. Tailors and boutiques that buy on credit sit in Dues.

  • Sizes and colours as items

Each size or colour gets its own item, barcode and stock, so you know exactly what is left.

  • Rate by price band

Up to ₹2,500 at 5%, above at 18%, set on each item and charged right on every bill.

  • Returns and exchanges

Credit notes for returns put the stock back and adjust the tax.

Questions from clothing & footwear owners

Does it handle the ₹2,500 GST rule?

Yes, through the rate on each item: items priced up to ₹2,500 carry 5% and those above carry 18%. If a discount takes an item below the limit, check the rate with your CA.

Is there a size and colour matrix?

Not as a matrix. Each size or colour is its own item, which keeps barcodes and stock exact. Importing from Excel makes adding a full size range quick.

How do exchanges work?

Make a credit note for the returned piece and a new bill for the one taken. Stock and GST are adjusted on both.
